Reimagining Fables and Fairy tales on Screen. 

Our event at Rio cinema explored one of the most enduring forms of Folk Literature, the genre is rooted in compelling, traditional and otherworldly stories. Although steeped in the aesthetic and language of the genre, the featured film-makers have reframed and reinterpreted their stories in a modern and contemporary context.

The shorts we screened were spiritual, absurdist, experimental and dystopian in tone, vision and style, dissecting themes around love, race, identity and the notion of truth and constructed reality.
