Reimagining Dread and Terror on Screen.

For our Halloween event at PECKHAM PLEX, we screened a selection of bold, terrifying shorts that defied horror conventions to interrogate themes around unrequited love, grief and familial crisis.

The shorts, period and contemporary, were stylised, audacious and innovative in their subversion of genre to convey gripping, unsettling stories that lingered long after the credits roll.

The filmmakers crafted tales underpinned by an emotional, psychological and sometimes humorous exploration of the human condition. The stories are dark, visually inventive and deliriously hypnotic in their power and resonance.
